Living The Good Life!

Here are some of the cats and kittens Front-Porch Felines have found homes for since 2013.
In the course of trapping and feeding feral cats, we often find cats who aren’t feral at all.
These felines have been dumped, or maybe their caretakers just decided to move and left their cat behind. Some were adopted out by us. Most were adopted through rescues or shelters. See our partners in adoption below.

Joe showed up in Brenda's shed. It was obvious he was very shy, not feral. It was love at first sight for Brenda. Maybe for Joe too, that is, after he had an eye removed. Joe's the best!

Sweepers was rescued from under a camper, along with Smoochy. She was pregnant, skinny, and believe it or not, short-haired. Of course she's our favorite prima donna.

Little Smooch, rescued at 6 months, weighed only 2 pounds. By 2 years, he had all his teeth pulled, but is thriving now at a whopping 13 pounds. Nemesis of Sweepers and generally very pesky.

Barnaby's a work in progress! A feral 7-year-old, with a bad leg wound and FIV. Almost tame, he lives with Brenda and is a "pill" as the vet says. Favorite pastime: "socialization" classes.

Little Yoli is the smartest kitten around. She learned to fetch in 15 minutes. She was fostered by Brenda. Probably a permanent foster as Barnaby, Smooch, and Nacho all love her!

Baby Nacho is absolutely adorable. We thought this tiny guy was a kitten, but he's full-grown and under 6 pounds. Macho Nacho is an FIV kitty but making a spectacular turnaround.

Brenda's first experience with socializing feral kittens. Yikes! These two were pretty wild and completely terrified. Well, at least Frac was. They were adopted out together by RMFR.

These 6 cuties stayed here with feral mom, Princess, from 2 weeks until we found forever homes. Oodles of fun as they got older! All 6 were adopted to loving homes by Brenda.

Two of Brenda's favorite fosters. Bernie had almost every parasite & fungus known. Dottie was 3 weeks old. After 4 long months to get them healthy, they were adopted together.

These two were trapped at 5 months and deemed untameable by a local shelter. When returned to Brenda, the cats were socialized with lots of help. They are now living in luxury!

These are 3 represent oodles of kittens we have rescued. Found sleeping in insulation. Their little eyes were swollen shut. After socialization, they were turned over to BHS.

Brenda thought Mellencamp was feral until he meowed and brushed her leg. After a month of "Nice Kitties Don't Bite" training, he was adopted to James, who doesn't mind an occasional nip.

Mr. Smackers was one of the first adoptees. After a week, it became apparent he was not feral. Living the dream with a forever family in Black Hawk. Favorite pastime: black jack.

Huge! That's a good way to describe Morty. This sweetie was dumped and showed up in Brenda's shed. He was terrified of being outdoors. Now he's an indoor kitty with lots of friends!

Nala was trapped in Brenda's shed. She was 6 months old and pretty feral. Smoochy has helped socialize many feral kitties. Well, mostly girl kitties, but who can blame him?

Oh, these 2 were precious! They stayed extra-long with us because of a nasty bout of ringworm. Adopted out together, they're still best friends and snugglers, according to Sue.

Rosco was taken in as a feral kitten, then he grew up and suddenly his humans didn't care. Brenda found him with a nasty leg wound and turned him over to ECC for medical care and adoption.

Foxtail: another tame kitty-cat. Trapped; we thought he was feral; but he was actually abandoned. Super sweet. He was turned in to LHS and adopted immediately.

Star was a feral colony cat, taken in to be treated for an eye infection. After treating her for 2 weeks, she actually tamed up. Brenda worked with her for a couple months and she was adopted into a wonderful home.

Mary was a 6 week old kitten delivered to Brenda by the post lady. Found in the road, scrawny, dehydrated and blind from a horrible eye infection. After 2 months, she was able to have her eye removed and be adopted. She now lives with Star.
